If you would love to spend time being an English Teacher in Thailand, you will need to get a business visa and a work permit.
Work permit
It is a legal need for having a work permit if you are looking for teaching in Thailand. The work permit will be depending on the type of visa and nationality, it is okay to get the work permit from the country of origin before you visit Thailand. You can convert it if you are in the kingdom already or fly to an embassy near Thailand. Please note that if you want to apply for a Thailand work permit, you must first have a non-immigrant visa. According to a teaching job, we will focus only on getting a work permit by Non-immigrant Visa B (Non-B). It is for people who come to the country for work in teaching or other legal jobs.
Briefly, applying for the work permit; you will need;
Passport with signed copies of every page
Non-immigrant visa with a signed copy
Departure card TM.6
University or college degree with transcripts
Certificates or licenses, if applicable
Resume/cv
Three photos, each 5×6 cm, taken in the last six months
Marriage certificate, if married to a Thai national
Medical certificate issued in the last 30 days
The location will be the Ministry of Labour in Bangkok (Google Maps link); Khwaeng Din Daeng, Khet Din Daeng, Bangkok 10400
Teaching License;
After you get a work permit, this is a final step, unless you have a degree in Education, you will need to apply for a temporary license (valid up to six years).
To obtain a teaching license, you will need:
Your passport with the Non-Immigrant B Visa affixed
Passport photos
Thai work permit
Original copy of your bachelor’s degree
University transcripts
Certified criminal background check
And then, you’re good to go!!
